“…Jesus called the children to Him and said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.’” [Luke 18:16 NIV
We read in Psalm 78:5-7: "He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in but would keep his commands."
It is our goal to partner with parents in raising up the next generation of Christ-followers. During the year, we offer several family events, such as: Christmas Celebration, parent seminars and workshops, movie nights, and more. Homefront is a spiritual parenting resource that can be delievered right to your email box every month.
Children's Sunday School Information
Welcome parents. We are delighted to have you and your children with us. The children will be dismissed before the sermon and are escorted by a teacher to the Youth room. Lessons include a story and a craft or other interactive activity. On communion Sunday, children return during the communion portion of the service. We look forward to getting to know your family. Infants and Moms, if needed there is a cry room located in the ladies restroom in the sanctuary
Each Sunday, our volunteers provide Bible-based teaching that is age-appropriate, creative and fun for babies through 6th graders. These are men, women, and youth who feel called to serve God by ministering to the children. The curriculum we use is Bible-based, creative, age-appropriate and relevant to kids today! Be sure to ask your child’s teacher for a parent take-home page! The parent take-home will give you ideas and activities to help you review the lesson with your child and look for ways that you and your child can apply the Bible truth in your lives during the week.
Sunday Check-in: All children are signed in by their parents at the “Kid’s Life Check-in Table,” and receive their nametag.. After signing in, younger children go directly to their classes while the Pre-K through 6th graders join parents in the Worship Service, as indicated below.
Infants/Toddlers class is for babies through 3 year olds who are not currently enrolled in a PreK class. After signing in children, please take them directly to their class, Room A/B. These little ones will experience the wonderful love of God as we plant seeds of faith in their hearts. We know that children learn of God’s love through stories, music, and play, while being cared for by loving adults and youth.
PreK-6th grade class is for children who are enrolled in a PreK class through 6th graders. After signing in your children, they will join you for the first part of the Worship Service. Children are a vital part of the Northminster Church community and we believe it is important for children and adults to experience worship together. After the Children’s Prayer, they are dismissed to attend their class. Their teachers will meet them in the foyer and walk them to the Youth Room for their Sunday School class. Children will gather together for large group teaching and then meet in small groups for an activity designed to help them apply the day's lesson. All children need to be signed out by their parent or guardian immediately following the worship service.
