Community Outreach

Northminster Church works with the following organizations to provide donations and volunteers to help support our community.

Please contact us if you have items, time or funds to donate.

If you would like to donate to any of the wonderful organizations listed below, we would like all donations to go through Northminster.

The amount(s) will be recorded on your Northminster giving statement and will not require the organizations spend time and money providing you with a giving statement as well as providing a central giving statement for tax reporting.  This will allow Northminster to be aware how much has been given for mission by members.

If you are interested in helping, please Donate online (below), mail or drop off a check into the lock box on the office door. Make the check out to NPC, with a memo note with the name or the organization you wish to donate to. The full amount will go to them. Thank you very much!

Giving online at Northminster is safe, simple, and secure.

The Presbytery of San Diego has two “Missions of the Presbytery”, New Day Urban Ministries (below) and the South Sudanese American Presbyterian Fellowship (SSAPF). SSAPF gathers in City Heights to minister to the needs of the refugee community in San Diego from South Sudan. This Fellowship is made up of refugees who escaped an incredibly brutal and deadly civil war.

The community has been hit hard by the pandemic; the job market is challenging and they have recently lost two of their church family, one due to COVID and the other due to gang violence. They are scrambling to try to come up with enough money for funeral expenses.

NPC is taking up a collection on their behalf. If you feel it in your heart to help this community you can donate as described in the above section and 100% of your donation will be given to them.

Senior Center -Serving Seniors

Northminster is collecting for the senior center. All of the donations and items collected will be given to Serving Seniors, whose mission is to provide quality and compassionate services for the survival, health and independence of seniors living in poverty. Sadly, 2 in 5 San Diego seniors have to choose between rent and food. Northminster and Thrivent have collaborated for several years now in volunteering to host birthday parties, holiday events and collecting much needed items for the low income and homeless seniors in San Diego. Due to the pandemic, many of the services and events that we have offered at the downtown center have been suspended, but the needs are greater than ever.
